Aurora Borealis – with dinner in a traditional style hut.
We travel by car for about 30 minutes to the west of Kiruna, with open views towards the highest mountains and an unspoilt river. There is a great chance to see moose along the road.
We take a short walk to the river, to experience silence and polar light, with very little light pollution. You will learn more about Aurora borealis, nature and space, by a well educated local guide, (MSc Natural Sciences). Hopefully we will see northern lights or other sky phenomena.
We enjoy a light dinner by the fire, in a cozy timber hut. Dinner consists of a warming fish-, mushroom- or reindeersoup with bread, mainly based on local products. After the warm meal we taste Chaga or Glögg with traditional cookies.
You will see a private hut and how life can work in -40 C, without electricity, showers and running water. The hut is handmade in a traditional style with small sustainable inventions. Is it really possible to charge the cellphone with firewood, and make tea at the same time?
We work with small groups and high quality, as we wish to give you a genuine experience.
